Meet Her!
Natasha Hinds: The Founder of Karibbean Island Pulse Kidz
Natasha Hinds, born and raised in Brooklyn, New York to Trinidadian parents, was deeply immersed in Caribbean culture from a young age. Her parents instilled in her a love for the vibrant traditions of Trinidad and Tobago. Natasha's journey into the world of mas began at an early age when she participated in her first Labor Day junior parade in 1991.
As she grew older, Natasha's passion for mas only intensified. She dedicated her time and energy to The Promise mas camp led by Monica Carrington, where she honed her skills and deepened her understanding of the art form. In 2014, fueled by a desire to bring her creative visions to life, Natasha took a leap of faith and founded Karibbean Island Pulse Kidz, also known as KIP Kidz mas.
With a keen eye for detail and a knack for transforming ideas from canvas to reality, Natasha led KIP Kidz mas to become a prominent junior mas band in Brooklyn. Year after year, Natasha's colorful and imaginative designs have brought joy to children and families, celebrating the beauty and richness of Caribbean culture on the streets of Brooklyn.
Natasha Hinds, a trailblazer and visionary leader, continues to inspire the next generation of masqueraders and their families with her passion, creativity, and unwavering dedication to keeping Caribbean traditions alive in the heart of New York City.
